It is so great to be back from Illinois. I hope you can look past my sunburn on the video. Gosh it was hot!! It has been really hard to be away so much this summer since I am not used to being away from my laptop for too long but I must say this summer has been a lot of fun. We just got back from the World Series for my oldest daughter. She plays fastpitch softball. I’m really proud.. they won!! She is a very dedicated student and player and it was so nice to see all that hard work pay off on Sunday. It was an exciting day.
While I was away I was thinking alot about how great it was that I was continuing to get opt ins in my list and members into my programs when I had maybe an hour a day to check up on my business. Have a home based business plan that I go over each and every month helps make that happen. I know for a lot of you, not just parents with young kids find yourself in slumps where life simply gets in the way of your business. It’s ok if it does… this is why we are in this industry right? To spend more time doing the things we love!

I have never created a home based business plan where do I even start?
You can start anywhere. All you need is a pen and a notebook. When you are ready to create your home based business plan just sit down and think about what is my ultimate goal for this month? Take it one step at a time. Monthly goals I find are the most effective when you are creating a home based business plan.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when you sit down to create your home based business plan :
- Set a reasonable goal. For example don’t say I am going to make $5,000 this month if you have never made $100. Maybe set a goal of $500 this month.
- Consider how much time you have to spend on your business week. Keep in mind that any time spent on training calls or reading your email is not time spent on your business…. only count the time you spend doing income producing activities.
- How many tools do you have available to you? Are you new to marketing on the internet? Expanding your knowledge is important to your home based business plan. If you still have a lot to learn that is ok just know some of your time will have to be spent on learning.
- Be very precise and to the point. If you want to make $500 this month what does that mean? How many members do you need to bring into your program or system? How many new distributors do you need to bring into your home based business. Those numbers are your goals.
If I have set goals haven’t I already created my home based business plan?
The short answer to that question is no. Goals are great and I’m by no means telling you not to set goals. I actually want you to. What makes this home based business plan so effective is it is really about taking those goals and picking them apart. Start with your main goals. Now, take it a step further and put pen to paper and write out the tasks you need to complete to reach those goals.
Let me give you an example. Let’s say I am new to this industry and I sit down and write my home based business plan. In that plan my top goal is I want to make $500 this month. Stop and ask yourself what would need to be done to reach that goal.
Here are some example of things that would listed on your home based business plan:
* Advertising your system (picking one if you don’t already have one)
* Writing a press release
* Sending out ads to various credit based lists
* Writing a blog post
* Connecting with friends on social networks who don’t have a system yet to build their business.
* Write an article and submit it to Ezine Articles
* Putting your splash page on some traffic exchanges
These are just a few example of the tasks you may want to use to reach the goal you set when you were creating your home based business plan for the month. would need to complete to reach that goal.
