Thousands of new people join network marketing on the internet each month. Many are not educated on the fundamentals of network marketing on the internet and without those it is really easy to be led astray. Today I want to share three basic secrets that can make or break your success.

In the offline world to open a business on Main St. chances are the real estate that you choose would really important. The same is true on the internet. Online your real estate is your website. The first mistake that is usually made in network marketing on the internet is the type of website you need to have. Just because your company gave you a website full of information about them such as products, company background and the entire compensation plan doesn’t mean you should use that website.


What kind of website do I need for network marketing on the internet?

You need a website called a capture page. A webpage that is targeted has sales copy, a personal picture of you or even better a video and most important an auto responder form. When your prospects visit your capture page they need to fill out auto responder form to gain access to additional information. The sales copy on your webpage will compel them to want to do so. In the offline world this would be considered your communication. Would you open a store on Main St. without a phone? If you did chances are that business will fail. Most people that are successful in this industry know how to build relationships. You have to do the same. The best way to do that is through your auto responder. You don’t want these messages to be pushy and full of sales copy. You want to offer value to your prospect. 1. Find a strategic business partner.

Look for partner or mentor that has not only achieved success,

but achieved it in a manner you wish to achieve it yourself. For

example if someone created a residual income off of talking to

strangers and giving them a business card and that’s not what

fits your personality and you can’t see yourself doing that they

are probably not a good partner for you. Find what fits your

personality.

2. Brand your name and business.

You can easily do this by just writing articles and submitting

them to e-zines or web sites for republishing.


3. Remember to take a little time out of your day

or week to brainstorm. New ideas are usually the

difference between success and failure.

4. Take risks to improve your business. Sometimes

businesses don’t want to advertise unless it’s free,

sometimes you have to spend money to get results.

5. Always market using a funded proposal. Offer a

front end sale and then later introduce your prospect

to your business. This “qualifies” the person for spending

your time with them. Time is valuable. If you get on the

phone with every person who comes to your website and

they are not of the same mindset as you, you are wasting

your time and their time.

6. Include emotional words in your advertisements.

Use ones like love, security, relief, freedom, happy,

satisfaction, fun, etc.

7. Have an auto responder (and your own capture page)

Systems will come and go but you shouldn’t have to leave

your prospects when you leave a system. Without an

autoresponder you will die a fast death in Internet

marketing. The money IS in the list. It’s essential.

8. Model other successful business or people. I’m

not saying out right copy them, but practice some

of the same habits that have made them succeed.

9. Ask people online to review your web site. You

can use the comments you get to improve your web

site or you may turn the reviewer into a customer.

10. Never stop learning. When it comes to Internet

marketing you must never think you have “mastered”

it. You must always continue to learn. Getting prospects

There are so many different network marketing or Multi Level Marketing companies operating on the Internet today. Sometimes it can be hard to know whether or not you are the company you are looking into is a reputable company or if they are someone trying to scam others. It becomes harder and harder with all the new companies being added virtually every day. Here are some tips to make sure you are not taken advantage of.

The first thing you need to look for is when you initially talk to an Internet marketer make sure you are talking to a person. The world of email and auto responders are great. They can assist you in so many ways when building a business in the Internet world, but never discount the value of human contact. Be sure that if you are not actually called by your potential mentor that you call them. Make sure they are really there, that it’s really the person they say they are. The way that someone carries themselves on the phone with you can determine so much about how much you are willing to trust that person as your potential mentor. If that potential mentor does everything to avoid human contact chances are they are not going to be a good mentor for you.

The second thing you need to look for is ensure you mentor, or the Network Marketing company they are with has an actual physical address. Is it a P.O. Box? If it is then why? Do they have an address for the corporate headquarters? After all you may pick a great mentor but the company you are with is the company sending you your check, you really want to make sure they are an actual company. Do a little of your own research. Are they a new company? Have they been in business for some time and have an established record? Now the Internet itself can be a great tool but often misleading. Check your information with the BBB(Better Business Bureau). Make sure they have testimonials from other distributors other than your potential mentor.

The last thing you will want to look for is do some research in the Internet community. If this network marketing company has been around for some time chances are they have done business with a lot of people and have a good or a bad reputation. No matter what any mentor tells you there is no product in the world no matter how good it is that sells itself. Make sure there is a sales plan set up through this company or even through your potential mentor that you can actually see potential results through. The best way to check those results out and is check the Internet community. Chances are there are some pretty dedicated customers or distributors out there on the Internet that are singing it’s praises.

Some of these tips may seem to be common sense, but sometimes potential business owners get so excited and about a new business venture and another source of potential income and simply forget some of the common sense things that we already know. Do your homework and make sure you find the right Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing company for you.

Tips For Work At Home Parents


If you are a new work at home parent balancing work, kids and everything else can be a struggle. Here are some tips for work at home parents that might make the day go a little easier.

I have been working at home for some time and while there are great advantages to it there are also struggles that you go through from time to time. I thought when my kids were younger it will get so much easier as they get older. I can send them off to school and work away. That is not always the case for work at home parents. Now that I have sent them both off to school they seem to have more and more things that need to be done. My goal is spending great time with them, but sometimes that can be a struggle. Activities, homework and just regular items on my to do list around the house can seem intimidating at times. Then I add in the tasks I want to get done each day and sometimes they just don’t get done. That’s why it’s so important to have a system. Here are a couple of tips that I have learned along the way to balance things out.
  • Keeping a daily checklist along with a notebook with special tasks for each day will not only keep your day organized but will help you to be sure that your most important tasks are complete.
  • Prioritize your checklist. What is most important?
  • Always write down 4-5 items right before bed or when your work day is coming to an end. That way if you are not focused when you start the next day you have your items right there to get you started. Then you are less likely to stray to messing around on the internet or checking emails you really don’t need.
  • Track you list- Is something carrying over day after day on your list? If it is find out why..is it really that important? Do you need to do it? Or are you intimidated by the task? Figure out the problem and either get it done or remove it from the list.
These are just a few small tips and while not everyone is a work at home parent everyone that is running a home business has their own set of items that can take away from their tasks for the day and get them off track. Find out what you can get rid of in your day that just isn’t necessary. For myself the most important goal is definitely getting my tasks accomplished each day but more importantly spending quality time with my kids. That’s why we do this right?

Over the years I have used many different internet marketing systems to build my primary network marketing business. I truly believe the success I have had online is a direct reflection of the fact that I use systems. Using systems effectively can determine your success or failure in this industry.

Teamwork and Leadership– You will never log onto a Second Income Coach training webinar and find it’s canceled or no one is there? Why..because we work as a team. It is very hard to find someone who you can work with online. You will find most people are just looking to sell you something. At Second Income Coach we are all working for the same goal…YOU. There are leaders in many areas of expertise the knowledge to be gained is limitless.

Front End & Back End Sales– Last but not least probably something that is really important to you..sales. Using a funded proposal or funded sponsoring system combined with training is a recipe for success in this industry. This is really a two fold perk. It gives you the ability to ensure you are spending your time with the right kind of prospects.

A prospect who is willing to spend a few dollars a month to expand their marketing knowledge is a phenomenal prospect for your primary business. This feeds right in to leveraging your time. Hype or Offering Value – How Should You Build Your Network Marketing Opportunity?

MLM is famous for over-promising and under-delivering. One thing’s for sure: there is a lot of hype in Network Marketing.

Unfortunately, all the hype out there creates false hope and expectations, which contribute to the negative image many people have of the network marketing and home based business industry.

If you are new to Network Marketing (or even if you’ve been in the industry for awhile), you may be tempted to contribute to all the hype out there. After all, if other people are doing it, it must work, right? It may work sometimes, usually in the short term, but something that will work far more effectively is adding true value to prospects.

People who attract customers and business partners with hype generally don’t attract people who stay very long. On the other hand, Network Marketers who attract people by providing valuable information, no strings attached, are likely to attract higher quality prospects and customers. Higher quality prospects and customers will inevitably lead to a more successful business.

Here are a few tips to help you make sure you’re adding value to the Network Marketing industry rather than flooding it with hype.

Put Yourself in Your Prospect’s Shoes. If you were the prospect, what would you think about the presentation you are giving, the ad you are placing, or the forum post or article you are writing? Would it sound like a sales pitch to you? If so, go back to the drawing board. Find a way to present your information without giving a sales pitch. You’ll be surprised at the results you get when people don’t feel like your only motive is to get them to buy something from you!

Have Integrity. If you value your integrity, you will be adding value instead of hype. You will conduct business in an ethical and honest way. Always remember that no sale or new business partner is worth ruining your reputation. People appreciate honesty, and when you show you are a person of integrity, people will want to do business with you.

Teach Others. Many people enter the Network Marketing arena with no background in business or marketing. When they see what other people are doing, they naturally join in. They don’t know any other way. When you teach others a better way–that they will be more successful in Network Marketing when they add value rather than hype, they will follow suit.

    Funded Proposals Are The Holy Grail Of Network Marketing!

    Systems and funded proposals are two things you will hear me talk about quite a bit. They are two essential tools to your success online. Often they can run hand in hand..which is the best way to use both of these tools??

    If you are not familiar funded proposal systems are used to “fund” your online advertising. Often referred to as a funded proposal, they are a very important step in your long term success as a network marketer and an internet marketer. There are several different types of funded proposal systems and that is what I want to concentrate on today. How do you pick the right system for you?

    This is a lesson I learned the hard way in growing my network marketing business. I have been very lucky to have learned from day 1 in my career how important using a funded proposal is. I started my business from day 1 that way. However, over time I have used various systems and have very different results. In that time I learned the hard way the RIGHT system any internet marketer should be using if long term success is your #1 priority.

    This is a lesson I learned the hard way in growing my network marketing business. I have been very lucky to have learned from day 1 in my career how important using a funded proposal is. I started my business from day 1 that way. However, over time I have used various systems and have very different results. In that time I learned the hard way the RIGHT system any internet marketer should be using if long term success is your #1 priority.

    There are two types of systems out there the 1st system is very easy to build a lot of income fast but it may not bring you the long term success you are looking for. It’s the something for nothing system. You have all seen them they just appear in different ways. It’s the funded proposal that says you pay this amount to join and we will get you this many other people that will join under you for a small fee. They will all be introduced to your program and you will make lots of money and everyone will be happy. I’m sure you have all seen them. They come around in various ways. The system can offer programs or even leads for you. These systems can bring you income. They can be a successful funded proposal in that you will probably generate a pretty good advertising budget. With that budget you will turn around and invest in more advertising to get prospects to your website and it will be an endless cycle and everyone is happy.

    Not so fast though!! What I learned the hard way by my experience is yes you will get a LOT of prospects, members and folks that will even join your primary business. However, you targeted these prospects with offering them essentially something for nothing. You end up with a bunch of folks who want just that. Something for nothing. When the real work comes and it’s time for them to advertise their business themselves, take steps forward in their internet marketing knowledge you are very unlikely to find any of them that are worth a moment of your time. Your simply targeted the wrong audience.

    The 2nd type of funded proposal system is centered around marketing or knowledge. If offers your prospect valuable information for a monthly fee. They are able to work as a team with others to expand their own internet marketing knowledge. Many of these systems will often offer other recommended affiliate programs inside the system itself that will lead to multiple streams of income. Some network marketing companies have wised up and starting offering them for their distributors, unfortunately those companies are few and far between. There are many of these systems that are generic funded proposal systems. Meaning it doesn’t matter what your primary business is there will be a place within the system that your members will be presented with your primary business. If that member chooses to join your business they are more than likely a much better potential business partner! They are eager to learn, there is a system already in place for them to plug in to so a lot of the training that comes with the large learning curve in this industry is not a factor. Your time is free to help guide your new business builder through the system and just simply have them do what you just did. They will be learning at the same time they earn.

    These two funded proposal systems may seem very different but we all know how things can be deceptive in the internet marketing world. It’s important that you do your homework. Make sure the system is completely duplication meaning anyone no matter what their level of internet marketing knowledge can plug right in. Also make sure that the system is not based online on programs. It’s ok for affiliate programs to be included in the system as long as there is knowledge to be gained from the system.
